Count in consistent units
Choose whether an item is counted by box, cartridge or bottle and keep that unit consistent. Record the product and pack size so a delivery of one box is not mistaken for one individual needle.
Connect use to a session
Record supply use close to the time it happens. Separate opened stock, waste and items reserved for an upcoming project. Inventory accuracy depends on those entries being made consistently.
Use reorder levels as a prompt
Set a threshold around typical usage and delivery time. Review the actual shelf count before purchasing. A low-stock warning is a planning aid; it does not place an order or guarantee availability.
Keep safety records separate and complete
Record lot and expiry information where your process requires it. Stock software does not establish product sterility or regulatory compliance. Quarantine recalled or expired items and follow manufacturer instructions.
